People are getting sick, the internet is panicking, and somehow we end up arguing about whether “poop lettuce” can put out a fire. We start with the Cyclospora outbreak chatter and the uncomfortable truth about food safety: outbreaks are real, tracing contamination is slow, and a single headline like “false positive” doesn’t magically erase risk. If you care about public health, FDA oversight, supply chains, and why fast-moving stories get distorted online, you’ll feel the tension immediately.

Then we go after a different kind of contamination: viral nutrition misinformation. You’ve seen the clips, someone sets a snack on fire, soaks bread under a faucet, or leaves an ice cream sandwich out to “prove” it doesn’t melt and suddenly the comments declare the food “not real.” We break down why those stunts are not experiments, what basic food chemistry actually explains, and how the algorithm rewards fear more than it rewards nuance. That leads us straight into supplement culture, sponsor spam, and the way overpriced programs can sell extreme calorie restriction as a miracle product.

Just when things get serious, our DeLorean obsession takes the wheel. Listener photos kick off a long detour into DeLorean DMC-12 history, crash tests, collector pricing, and a harsh reality check about cup holders and that tiny sliding window. We even wander into AI “actresses,” AI slop, and the weird future where everything looks convincing until you ask one follow-up question.

If you like smart comedy, media literacy, and fitness-adjacent skepticism with real stakes, hit play. Subscribe, share this with a friend who falls for viral food clips, and leave a review so more people can find the show.

SPEAKER_03

We gotta at least mention the shit lettuce.

SPEAKER_01

Didn't they mention that there is a second cyclospora outbreak? Because in the United States, we can't ever have just one tragedy. We always have to double it in one way or another.

SPEAKER_02

Name one other time that happened.

SPEAKER_01

Name one other time where one bad thing happened

Poop Lettuce And Cyclospora Returns

SPEAKER_01

and we thought that couldn't possibly be replicated. Yeah, exactly. And then another very similar thing happened to another very similar thing next to it.

SPEAKER_02

Twin occurrences perhaps. Never mind. All right, I got you.

SPEAKER_00

Didn't Trump post like an AI image of him jetting over people and dropping shit everywhere? Maybe you could have said that didn't Trump.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, no, he didn't. He and he included some like kind of more famous people, like social media people, which was really interesting. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Did he include you?

SPEAKER_03

Um I was gonna say unfortunately not or fortunately not. I don't know if unfortunate or unfortunate in this situation, if I'm being perfectly honest with you.

SPEAKER_01

I I don't think you want that kind of attention on you.

SPEAKER_00

That'd be sort of a mess, even maybe more than what was depicted. Leave a comment on this video if you wanted to see Trump dumping on Liam. Or if you didn't want to see Trump dumping on Liam. I don't care.

SPEAKER_01

Speaking of uncontrollable dumps, uh, we are now in our second Cyclospora outbreak. Yeah, wait, no, is this really?

SPEAKER_03

Is there a second one? Because like I've only heard that okay, listen, where I let's we gotta catch ourselves up, okay? People started shitting themselves, right? And there was like it started in Michigan and it started spreading out to here in New York, and we were like, oh damn, that sucks. And there was like 2,000 cases, and now there's like 4,000 cases, and they traced it back to like Taco Bell, and then it was to the lettuce at Taco Bell, and then they found it was from a farm, a specific farm in Mexico that was supplying not just Taco Bell but other ones. But then when they tested it, they found there was a false positive. But of course, like that doesn't necessarily mean it didn't come from there because you're testing it like months later, so like it could have already been there. Like, and then so we don't really actually know like if it is from there, it still could be from the poop lettuce. But now you're telling me there's another one?

SPEAKER_01

There is another one. Uh, they are investigating another outbreak. If only we had an organization that could have been in charge of quality control and making sure that all of them comes to Canada.

SPEAKER_00

We don't have poop lettuce yet. We're gonna start sending it up.

SPEAKER_03

Not if we have not if anything we have anything to say about it. We're gonna make sure that the fires you got up there are fueled or are no are doused or put out with poop lettuce.

SPEAKER_00

It's you're gonna put out our fires with poop lettuce.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I was gonna say that they were like fueled by them, but like lettuce can't fuel a fire, it's mostly water. That doesn't make any sense. So it's gonna be a good thing.

SPEAKER_01

Unless you get one of those one of those grifters that starts burning a food that they don't like or that they want you to think is bad, and they go, Look, food burn big. That must mean bad. Dorito burn. Dorito go and stomach stomach. That was who did that? Paul Saladin. Saladino. Oh, did he really? Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

It's like calories, like calories are literally we burned our food to see how many calories.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, wait, no, no, it was actually the opposite. He held up an Oreo, the lighter to it for like two seconds and was like, see, it didn't burn. Oh, did he?

SPEAKER_03

I thought he was burning it. Maybe I'm thinking of someone else who burned it. Oh, I like the one where they try to burn the craft cheese, where they try to put set the craft cheese on fire with a lighter, and when it doesn't light, they're like, It's not food. I'm like, Yeah, that's how that works.

SPEAKER_01

So which one is it? If it burns, is it food, or if it doesn't burn, it's food.

SPEAKER_03

It depends which food. It depends which food they don't want us to eat.

unknown

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_01

Like, have you ever seen the videos where they take like an ice cream sandwich, one of those with like the two chocolate wafers, the long rectangle ones, like that, and they'll leave it out in a Tupperware for three days, and they'll go, look at what happens. If you leave this in a Tupperware

Viral Food Experiments Aren’t Evidence

SPEAKER_01

for three days, it looks different. You shouldn't be only eating ice cream sandwiches.

SPEAKER_03

That's always the thing though, it's like it doesn't melt. Like, oh, it doesn't melt. And it's just like it's I mean, it's got allsifiers, it's got stuff in it, so that like I like it when my ice cream is.

SPEAKER_00

The funny thing is, like, scientifically, it did melt. It didn't melt in the way that you expected it to. But it did in fact melt.

SPEAKER_03

If you had something that was just like milk, you know, cream, sugar, that would melt differently than like these other frozen dairy products that also have things added to them. And it's like because of that, oh, it's poison. It's like I kind of like when my ice cream sandwich holds together. I'm gonna be honest. Like, if we go to like a picnic, we go to like a party, I want my ice cream sandwich to not immediately go and then just melt everywhere. That's what I'm saying.

SPEAKER_01

Oh man. There's um there was a video of somebody was dissolving an egg in Pepsi in like a bowl of Pepsi for a few months, and then they pulled out the egg and the shell was gone. And I I've gotta say, guys, it really made me think twice about sitting in a bowl of Pepsi for six months. I don't think I'll be doing it.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. There's another part of the bread.

SPEAKER_00

It's unfortunately you have that skin protecting them.

unknown

Skin.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

But this, like, uh, what was it? There's another viral video of the of the bread where people put bread under a tap and then like squish it and then it and then it unsquishes, and they're like, look, poison. And I'm just like, is your your stomach isn't a running tap? Those they're very different things, you know what I'm saying? Like, yeah, it's not gonna just uns, it's not just gonna go in your stomach. That's not how it works. It's like we've made bread squishier so that like we have less food waste because like something goes and falls on it, then you can still sell the bread, and it's not just you're not ruined. I think that's kind of cool. We got better, maybe you know, stable bread. Dumb.

SPEAKER_00

How dare you? How dare you with your less food waste?

SPEAKER_03

Seriously.

SPEAKER_01

If you put food into other things or you make it wet or you put fire on it, it changes. And these people are rich from sharing this. These people are unbelievable. Now, imagine there's a situation where it post-apocalypse, right? Meteor hits, nuke hits, whatever, everything's gone. What I think about this all the time. I don't serve a purpose. They're gonna eat me. Uh, because there's no fun with this.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, so first we've got to get to 88 miles an hour.

Apocalypse Thoughts And Time Travel Bits

SPEAKER_03

Then, when that from what I hear, when that happens, we can go back and stop that from happening in the future.

SPEAKER_00

We had another viewer send in pictures of DeLoreans. Did we? We did. Was it like another trick? Can we pull it up? It looks like from the I have to find it in my inbox of five billion spam emails from AI bots trying to push for some jackass to get on the podcast.

SPEAKER_01

Can we just do an episode where we read through our spam emails?

SPEAKER_03

Oh, yeah, that's riveting.

SPEAKER_01

For the Patreon. Well, you Liam, you're probably getting a whole bunch of garbage, like companies asking, hey, do you want to promote our product for things that you would never touch? Oh, yeah. Because I know I get plenty of those.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, yeah. I get,

Spam Emails And Influencer Sponsorships

SPEAKER_03

I mean, I get plenty of things. A lot of the pretty much there's a lot of apps now, a lot of a lot of AI shit, pretty much anything that's AI. I'm like, yeah, no thanks, uh, supplements all the time. Those are probably like the big, those are the most like common ones.

SPEAKER_01

My favorite is when they try to court me a little bit, and they're like, hey, we we really like your your mindset and lifestyle advice. And they'll they'll even quote a video. We really like your science-based approach. Sell our red light therapy mask. Okay. Well, if I ever decide to give up on all those things you told me were good, sell our baboon mask.

SPEAKER_03

Put it into pill form and you can just take it. It does whatever we say it does. You make it red.

SPEAKER_01

You you you you whisper your deepest desires onto the pill and then you swallow it, and then you go to sleep.

SPEAKER_03

So you know how like red forty one. We've built a supplement that for colors thing with baboon butt. We use baboon ass to make things red.

SPEAKER_01

It's red 41. It's just been released. We have it out now. What is it to we need to just release a supplement? No, no, you know what? There's not a uh there's a big gap in the market right now for a supplement that specifically hurts you.

SPEAKER_03

Wait, that was okay. That's the design. Is the design to make sure life?

SPEAKER_01

That's the design. Now we have supplements that hurt us, but we don't have a supplement that is marketed as

Inventing A “Bad For You” Supplement

SPEAKER_01

this is going to leave you worse off.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, are we thinking sort of like the liquid death route, but for supplements? Is that kind of what you're thinking?

SPEAKER_01

Well, with the liquid death, what what that is, it's just water in a can.

SPEAKER_03

Yes. But they market it as like liquid death. Like it looks it looks bad. Like they try and make it look deadly.

SPEAKER_01

But you're murdering your thirst, is what they say. And it's supposed to look like an alcoholic drink.

SPEAKER_03

And we applied it to Ashwagand.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, okay. That's that's what we're doing now. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

I'm I'm actually, I'm sorry. I I just I couldn't think while I was pulling my wallet out. Ashwadakya. Oshwakillia. Oshwakillia. And it doesn't, it's just uh a fancy placebo that makes your piss more expensive, like Ashwagonda really is.

SPEAKER_03

Oh no, no, no, no. Hold wait, wait, wait. There's things that can turn your pee different colors, though, right? So like we should do it so that it turns your pee like red or something really bad. Like it just makes it look like you're dying. It looks like you're peeing out blood.

SPEAKER_01

Is there not what it's supposed to look like? What color is it supposed to be? I'm scared, no. Yeah, okay. So look, because that that's what we we need a good visual representation. That's why one of the reasons why a lot of these there was a I don't think they even sell this anymore. There was do you remember the the Unicity, the you feel good system?

SPEAKER_03

Oh, yeah, of course.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's they don't do it anymore because it's they ran out of the amount of people that would believe them. I don't know. I mean, I haven't it used to be like every you'd scroll and you'd see it on every tab, right? You feel good now. I'm just forwarding this thing to you guys. Yeah, forward it to us. Uh, because I'd like to.

SPEAKER_00

Shout out to Barry Hunter.

SPEAKER_01

So, real quick, before because I want to spend more time. Oh, so first off, they have dropped the price.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, so it's not $500 anymore?

SPEAKER_01

It used to be $159. Now it is $115.

Unicity Pricing And Starvation Marketing

SPEAKER_01

So clearly that is a sign of a decaying product. But basically, the whole gist of it was you would take this thing twice a day and then you would starve yourself, right? So, like you, and that was then the whole thing was if you take this thing and then you starve yourself, you'd lose weight. And so I would always, or I'd make a video, I would ask them in their live stream, what happens if I just take the supplement and I don't starve myself? And they would block me every time. This thing relies on you not eating to give you the results. It's they're just it's they're selling you a really extreme calorie deficit. People caught on. That's why they have to lower the price of the product because nobody's buying it anymore.

SPEAKER_00

Anyway, one of the very last things I did on Instagram was uh talking about this and how it was over $200. And I think Mike, you saw the comment. Somebody was like, it's not over $200, you idiot. And I had to like make a post that was just me screenshotting the price of Unicity. And I was like, Yeah, yeah, no, it's it's over $200. Yeah.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

You can get the multi-pack for over $200, but it used to be the single packs were $150 something.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, guys, I got it. I got it. So we get to make the supplement, Oshwadathia or Oshwakilia. We'll work shopping. Oshwakilla doesn't matter. Okay. Yeah. Then it there's a pig, there's some there's in beets, there's a pigment. Betalane, uh specifically a compound called betane bet betanin. What doesn't matter? Betonin? Probably because it's beets, betanin, it turns your pee red. So we just isolate that, we put it into sugar pills, like that. So that when you take it, your fucking pee turns red.

SPEAKER_00

That's how you know it's working. That's how you know it's working.

SPEAKER_03

That's all it does. It's it literally just turns your pea red, and it's marketed as like it's it's terrible for you.

SPEAKER_01

That was the thing with the with the unicity, was like it you starve yourself so it feels like something's happening. You have the morning skinny all the time. But we are showing a visual representation. We want to change the color of their pee coming.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, we're not actually gonna hurt you because the FDA might have like some issues with us or whatever.

SPEAKER_00

You don't have an FDA anymore. We don't have to do that. Yeah, well, the FDA is gone. That's why we have poop lettuce.

SPEAKER_03

They're too even that's what's left of the FDA is too all in on poop lettuce, and we can get away with whatever we want.

SPEAKER_01

What if we just sell the poop lettuce as like a cutting hack? I want to lose a lot of weight.

SPEAKER_03

Like people are like at the gym and they're handing out bags of lettuce, and it's just like, yeah, okay, let's this is how you lose weight. Just shit your brains. Oh no. Oh no.

SPEAKER_01

The Inmoderation Podcast does not condone the use of it.

SPEAKER_00

On a serious note, like it's it's uh it always amazes me from the perspective of a Canadian because our diets aren't that different. I mean, we have poutine, you have deep fried butter.

SPEAKER_02

Right.

SPEAKER_00

But you look at like our life expectancy, the mortality rates of children,

Canada Vs US Health And Food Policy

SPEAKER_00

all these things. Canada just blows the U.S. out of the water. Um, the average Canadian is like much less heavy than the average American, also taller than the average American. And like stretching, you guys gutting your FDA and talking about how there's a war on protein and all this stuff does nothing. Meanwhile, we're over here like giving money to uh um low-income families in order to help them buy groceries and having health care and all this stuff. I don't know. I think that I think that might have something to do with it instead of instead of some crazy We're trying to take more money away from poor women and children.

SPEAKER_03

True. We're trying to cut wick. Yeah, it's specifically the fruit and vegetable portion, because we don't want poor people to buy fruits and vegetables.

SPEAKER_01

No, that would be insane. And then we we need to criticize them for buying Doritos.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So no access to fresh fruit. We're so cooked.

SPEAKER_00

Just like our food needs to be now because we have fucking just for like just for one second, I'd like to be inside the mind of the people that believed all that um RFK nonsense and everything, and just like be like, what is going on in there? A worm, a worm is going on in there.

SPEAKER_03

It does like, okay, listen. For them, you just need to make enough sense that the average Joe Rogan listener could understand. As long as you can do that, that's really all that matters, right? Like, I've been I see a bunch of these videos go viral where they're like, look at all the uh health secretaries of other countries, and they show them because they're like they're they're um worker, right? And they're always just like, oh, look at them, they're fat. They don't and that's pretty much it. And they're like, But yeah, look at our health secretary. He's fit and he's old, like whatever, all this stuff. That's really all that for them. That's that's all that matters. It doesn't matter that his ideas are fucking batshit crazy, and all their their ideas are actually really good. They just all they care about is the appearance. That's it.

SPEAKER_00

And everybody else has doctorates and all this fancy shit.

SPEAKER_03

I kind of want to make a video because like there's a guy who made who did one of these. He were he was going over one and then he talks about all the credentials they have. And I kind of just wanted to make it my own video and be like, hey, this guy, he talks about all the credentials that the health secretaries in other countries have, but like that goes without saying you don't become health secretary without and then just like flash a picker fixture of fucking RFK and be like, you know, I stand corrected. Like apparently you can do you know, health sec become health secretary without anything. Without maybe just a name.

SPEAKER_01

Like the the the people that build airplanes probably don't know how to fly them, they just know how to build them. Like it's it it everybody's gonna crashing, which is true.

SPEAKER_03

But like when there's like a fat NFL coach, you never hear people like saying shit. Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_01

The NFL coaches are usually out of shape. There's never a guy who looks like he could get on the field, but they are the chess players and they're using their players as chess pieces in this game. And it's it like they understand the game probably better than the people on the field, which is why they go to the coach and they strategize, and and that's how they do it. Everybody's got their role.

SPEAKER_03

But again, you just need the really basic, just like one thought. No, no, no, no, no, no layering, just like look at that, fat. And that's pretty much all you need for a lot of people, unfortunately.

SPEAKER_01

But you know who knew how to do everything? Doc Brown built the DeLorean time machine.

SPEAKER_03

We were both going. I was thinking it was going to the person who actually built the DeLorean. The person who adapted the Dean.

SPEAKER_01

The person who took the DeLorean and made it into a work of art. So we've got

Listener DeLoreans And Flag Confusion

SPEAKER_01

this from Barry. Uh at I can't read that. Jet or die.

SPEAKER_03

Something or die.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Jetta G or or Jordi. Something like that. J-E-D-A-Y-E-G-E-O-R-D-I-E. I wish I could read. Thank you, Barry. Appreciate your. We're never gonna get another submission.

SPEAKER_00

It's Jedi Jordi.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, I thought it was something or die. I can't really. It's it's tiny.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Sorry, American education over here. So we've got two DeLoreans out this way. So here's the thing. We've got two regular DeLoreans for those of you who are not watching, which is very cool.

SPEAKER_03

I like the regular. I like the regular DeLorean. Like when you jazz it up and make it look like it's from, you know, ahead to the future, like that's cool. But I think just like there's something very classic about just the original, you know?

SPEAKER_01

God's the coolest car ever made. Yeah, it it's uh they don't work good, but they're very cool looking. And this is uh obviously from somewhere else. These are not American plates, these are uh from across the pond. Now, this next picture, you're gonna notice a bit of a difference here. It's green up front. What? Look at this.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, so this one it's green, it looks way different. Why does it look so different?

SPEAKER_01

It is the colors of the, I believe, the Irish flag is what this is right here. We've got green, white, and orange. It's that's green, white, and red. Racist how dare you! Now, I if anybody's got an Italian DeLorean out there, please send us pictures. But this one I'm fairly certain is Irish.

SPEAKER_00

So it is green, red, and red. I stand corrected. I don't know my flags. I'm not a flagologist.

SPEAKER_01

Well, maybe you should be. But the person who is a flagologist is probably a little bit out of shape, and everybody would say, well, they don't know anything about flags because they're they're fat.

SPEAKER_03

We have stars, Canada has maple syrup. I don't really know much else besides that.

SPEAKER_00

It's also India's colours. Okay, so this may also be an Indian DeLorean. And the Ivory Coast's colours, which is apparently the opposite order of Ireland.

SPEAKER_01

Jedi Geordy, aka Barry. I'm just gonna call you Barry. Can I call you Barry? Hi, Barry.

SPEAKER_03

It looks so different. Not like even the colors, like the shape of it looks so different. Am I crazy?

SPEAKER_01

I think it's because we're so used to seeing the DeLorean time machine. Because this to me, uh also are you. We may be on the fisheye lens because it's it it looks a little like curved in.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I don't know. Maybe I'm just used to seeing it from behind, but it looks way different besides the color, obviously.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. But yeah, this is uh and obviously we got the classics right here that's a good thing.

SPEAKER_03

I just watched stainless steel. The fucking stainless steel, if you get in a car wreck beyond 15 miles an hour, your will kicks in automatically. Like that's what I want. Whose will?

SPEAKER_01

That car is 3,000 pounds of just pure hunting.

SPEAKER_03

Well, yeah, no, it's heavy, but all of that energy just goes to you. Like it doesn't matter.

SPEAKER_00

Has anybody ever done a little with a DeLorean? Uh let's find out. Mike, Google that for us. Hold on.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, because like if it's like a metal box, all of those uh, what is it, newtons? I want to sound smart. So all those newtons just get transferred right into you. And that's all right, guys.

SPEAKER_01

Here we go. We've got a DeLorean crash test right here on the number one DeLorean fitness podcast on the air. We're gonna react to it live.

SPEAKER_03

This looks like it came out in 19.

SPEAKER_01

40 miles per hour. Oh my god. How did it get going that fast? They've they've got a ragtime piano playing

DeLorean Crash Tests And Weird Metrics

SPEAKER_01

behind.

SPEAKER_03

This looks like it came out of a dream. So they're okay, okay. All right. You know what? You know what?

SPEAKER_01

That's that's pretty well.

SPEAKER_03

It did pretty well.

SPEAKER_01

You know what's also useful here? The door opens up. So that the gull wing door, like it crumples open, so you can kind of slide out. This is true. It's it crumbled pretty easy. Uh I I have to say.

SPEAKER_03

It really did. I expected that just to be like I mean with We've got another one here.

SPEAKER_01

This is being driven by Charlie Jaclin.

SPEAKER_03

There we go.

SPEAKER_01

Slow mo here we go. Okay, so right now it is oh, wait a minute. What is that?

SPEAKER_03

Uh maybe a case.

SPEAKER_01

Is that a Mr. Fusion? No, it's not too far. Never mind. Ignore me. Here we go.

SPEAKER_03

It crumples. I mean it crumples more.

SPEAKER_01

It crumples.

SPEAKER_03

Correct. DeLorean surprises me every day. That's all I gotta say. Everything I learn about the DeLorean just makes me want it more. I have yet to learn a piece that makes me go, no, I don't want it.

SPEAKER_01

We learn something new about it every day here on the Inmoderation podcast.

SPEAKER_03

God, I want a fucking DeLorean so bad. One day. I'll have one one day.

SPEAKER_01

You know what's crazy too? I just found better quality footage of it. We didn't have to watch that one. I thought you were gonna say, you know what's crazy? Well, yeah, that too. And uh by the way, if you're defending him online right now, uh the internet is forever. Look at that.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, this one's only 35 miles per hour, though.

SPEAKER_03

That one doesn't look like it crumpled as much. Am I crazy? The yellow one looked like it crumpled more, right? Well, that was it for the city. Five miles though, make that big a difference.

SPEAKER_01

The airbags are looking real small, too. Oh, that crash test on me.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know why that's dumb. Those airbags are looking itty bitty.

SPEAKER_01

They're very small. I like it's you're gonna bounce off of that. It's supposed to encapsulate you, right? It's supposed to cocoon you.

SPEAKER_02

I don't know why I thought that was so funny.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, here we go, here we go. Look, look at these drinky little it's it stops before it even touches the guy.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, it's snapping his neck.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, no, the neck is gone. No. I think the airbag may have made it worse, is what we're seeing here.

SPEAKER_03

I think looking at that, I would choose no airbag over that airbag.

SPEAKER_01

You would choose the no airbag just smacking against the steering wheel. Oh, we're inside. We're inside. Okay.

SPEAKER_03

And I mean, really, like the neck. No. Okay, the one on the right doesn't look too bad. That the left one severed.

SPEAKER_00

It feels like the passenger side had the better airbag.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Okay, so we're gonna get the side again. There we go.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

This one's as much. Back and to the left. The way that the uh the the hood opens up, because the hood is um or the trunk rather is in the front. We've got the trunk in the front.

SPEAKER_03

From the show, from the movie to like the history. Now we're on crash tests. Everything on the DeLorean.

SPEAKER_01

We've got people setting at DeLorean stuff. We have to.

SPEAKER_03

We're gonna be like, all right, the beal, the wheel bearings on this thing are are looking a little a little suspect, you know what I'm saying? But let's zoom in for a closer look.

SPEAKER_01

So this is pretty gnarly, right?

SPEAKER_03

Uh it doesn't look like it crumpled as much as I'm no, I'm not a carologist, but that does not look like it's fucking crumpled as much as it's supposed to.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, so here is, I guess, the injury measure. Uh I don't really know how to read this, uh, but we've got we've got we do have figures on the femur load. So if anybody was like, you know, let me tune into in moderation to see if we've got any info on the femur load. On the drive on the right side, we've got 1125. On the passenger side, we've got 1050. So I think you may have been right.

SPEAKER_03

What are the units of measurement? Who fucking knows? I don't.

SPEAKER_01

Hectares. These parsing the right side is receiving 1125 hectares of femur load. During this test, the steering wheel crushed approximately two inches and the column rotated upwards 10.5 degrees. See, that's where it becomes a real problem. You don't want it to be rotating upward more than five degrees. But here's here's what I'm really concerned about: the intruding firewall crushed approximately two inches of the expanded. Uh I can't read that because it's covered by words, but I understand that I know what I'm talking about here.

SPEAKER_03

I don't see anything about that guy's neck being just completely twisted backwards.

SPEAKER_01

Maybe he had a femur for a neck. So this is our guy. He's having a bad day. He's having a real bad day. This is yeah, don't get into a DeLorean if you are this shade of red, is I think the takeaway here. Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

What what what did we what did we learn about moderation today? We learned that we should probably try to put Mike in one and see what happens.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

This um, if anybody has a DeLorean, listen, we big we can we can't even get our hands on one, let alone crash one. There's no way if I'm if I'm getting one, I'm making sure that thing is pristine.

SPEAKER_01

Have we tried to get our hands on one yet? Have we asked?

SPEAKER_03

I I've looked up like prices of them and it varies quite a bit.

SPEAKER_01

But like Can we just rent one? Do we have to buy it?

SPEAKER_03

It seemed like the minimum price was like 40 grand.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that's if

Hunting Deals And Dreaming On eBay

SPEAKER_01

we're purchasing it, but there's gotta be somebody out there who can allow us to have their DeLorean and not crash. We promise not to crash it. Paint ourselves red and crash it. We're not gonna do that. Well, all right.

SPEAKER_00

Who will paint ourselves blue and crash it?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, this one seems nice. A 1980. Oh, but that's an 80. Wait, which Mike, which one do I want? The 81?

SPEAKER_01

Uh so the 81 was the one that was used in whatever movie that was. Okay, so I need an 81. Yes.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

There is an 82 and an 83 model.

SPEAKER_03

I see there's an 83. Why what what was that they change a lot with the 83?

SPEAKER_01

There were very minor things like the difference between the first track. With each one, they added a new track. By the end, they had 10 tracks in it. Like there were some minor things, like the gas cap used to be on the outside of it, and then they changed it for aesthetic purposes. Like it just little things um that would would be different. But it was functionally speaking, the same model from front to back.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

It was still the DMC 12.

SPEAKER_03

I okay. I'm all right. I still want the one that was in the movie, though. That's kind of the whole point of it. So I do need one. Yeah, I do need an 81. This one, hey, $42,500.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, great. I'll just uh I'll need everybody's gumball money for a hundred thousand years.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, sorry, sorry. It's uh two bucks Canadian, so it's probably like 50 cents.

SPEAKER_01

You did give me a uh a loony the last time you were here.

SPEAKER_00

Or a toonie loony. Wait, no, I gave you a toonie.

SPEAKER_03

Ah, I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, you got the toonie, everybody else has it.

SPEAKER_03

One only 37,000 miles. That seems really good.

SPEAKER_01

Wait, there's no miles on the first one?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, well, this one doesn't have it listed, and that seems sketchy.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

It doesn't have it listed.

SPEAKER_01

Mind you, these were not like these were not vehicles that you were gonna get to half a million miles. Right. Right, yeah, yeah. Not without extreme care and having to replace several things over the years. Like the people that take care of these vehicles are not doing it for Oh, it's in New York.

SPEAKER_03

Holy shit, I'm buying this one.

SPEAKER_00

How long does the uh diffusion defibrillator last in those things?

SPEAKER_03

Four or four seconds.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

All right, it is four hours. All right, I forget how like long fucking the state of New York is, so it's still like four and a half hours away, but like that's doable.

SPEAKER_01

We're about to hear the Apple Cash sound come from Liam's phone.

SPEAKER_03

I will it's the silver too. It's only got 37,000 miles. I can't drive it back because I can't drive a manual, but like I'll figure something out with this.

SPEAKER_01

Just grind it out, going highway speed, it's in first gear.

SPEAKER_03

I'd be on the fucking news. There's just the local news is gonna be reporting on the guy that fucking bought a DeLorean and can't drive it back home.

SPEAKER_01

You're dragging this thing back at 7500 RPM. April and I have planned tomorrow.

SPEAKER_03

I'm gonna say we're canceling those, and I need you. She can drive sticks. I'm like, listen, I need you're gonna need to drive this thing back and then teach me, please.

SPEAKER_01

Teach me how to do this. You can't tell her until you get there.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I'll just tell her we're going on a short trip.

SPEAKER_01

Going on a short trip. Look, she's asleep right now. We can talk about it.

SPEAKER_03

Why? So so I mean, oh, it's only got 900 miles on it. Is that okay?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so it's basically like factory pristine. Yeah, it's it's just been sitting in a warehouse for 40 years. Yeah, that's gotta be why.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know, I don't mind one that has like 30,000 miles on it, right? Like that doesn't seem so bad. It's cheaper. 1982.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, all you're gonna do is park it on your lawn and show it off to people.

SPEAKER_03

No, I listen, I'm driving this fuck around. Oh, I there's one that's that's Back to the Future decked out.

SPEAKER_01

Yep.

SPEAKER_03

175,000. Holy shit.

SPEAKER_01

That is the going price, anywhere from 130 to 200. Dang, that's crazy. Usually something like that. Yeah, but uh by the if anybody listening right now has access to a DeLorean and would allow us to just be in it for a day, uh let us know. We will fly out there, we will come hang out with you. Um, I will I I I say we. No, you know what? We. Mike will sign your chest. We'll come out here. We'll be there. Yeah, I'm on I'm on eBay right now. Liam might give you some beans. Liam may give you some beans.

SPEAKER_03

We may need to put it through a crash test, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there.

SPEAKER_01

Look, we'll fix it. We'll fix it. Okay. We'll get somebody else. Get in this fucking thing. Let's go. Get those checkerboards tattooed on the sides of my shaved head. This'll be really good. I I hope everybody here is learning something right now from you're like, you know, let me listen to these boys about uh you know things in moderation, right? Oh, wait a minute, $27,500 for a uh used 1981 DeLorean DMC twelve. Okay, where is it?

SPEAKER_03

Why is it not I'm gonna be a hundred percent honest with you? This entire time I thought it was DNC.

SPEAKER_01

No, that would be the Democratic National Committee, which is a completely different vehicle.

SPEAKER_03

They have an engine in it that really just doesn't have a whole lot of designers, it is, but I'm like, I'm buying this fucking thing one way or another.

SPEAKER_01

The DeLorean Noter Company.

SPEAKER_03

This thing's pretty nice.

SPEAKER_00

One of these days, this podcast will take off on YouTube. We'll get that sweet, sweet YouTube bunny and we'll put it all towards the DeLorean fund.

SPEAKER_01

How much, how much are we pulling in with this podcast? $100,000 an episode?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, $100,000 an episode. Um if it was like South African.

SPEAKER_03

Everybody listening, next time you listen to us, you're gonna hear a lot of ads for gamble now and crypto all your worries away and like all of that. I understand we've completely sold out, but it's for a good cause. Well, I'm not gonna tell you what it's for, but like it's a good cause.

SPEAKER_00

You just have to trust us.

SPEAKER_01

Bet on whether or not your neighbor's wife is cheating on debtmarket.com. Bet the kids' tuition on what's gonna happen. Everybody tune in. Yeah, that's um, blocking. Oh, yeah, they got leather seats. You want to stick to I mean, come over here to Texas, you will stick to that thing like glue.

SPEAKER_03

Why it is why I didn't realize it's all like carpeted, like on the bottom. Like it's just like there's some carpet in it.

SPEAKER_01

It is very 80s, it is extremely 80s.

SPEAKER_00

Where do I plug my iPhone? That'd be 70s. Wasn't that like a 70s thing? Carpeted flooring everywhere.

SPEAKER_03

70s, 70s, sorry. Yeah, yeah, but when you do that much cocaine, you kind of just stay wherever you started doing that. You know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_01

He puts carpet everywhere so that he can like rub it into the floor. So if they try to get him for it, I don't wasn't here. So this is right here, this is from a DeLorean. This is the material that you're uh referencing. It is very soft, it's got like a foam backing on it. Oh, it's got a little bit of a squish to it. Uh, this is the leather up here. It is exactly as unpleasant as you're imagining it would be. Sometimes I just stroke my DeLorean pieces.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, is this just from like busted up DeLoreans? Like they just destroyed it. Yeah, and then like just took pieces.

SPEAKER_01

This right here, so in 2012, the what was so they they had seven cars for the Back to the Future movies that were decked out in various ways to look like the tiny machine. And the A-car, which was the most detailed version of the vehicle, was rotting on a Universal

Screen Used Time Machine Parts

SPEAKER_01

Studios back lot. And it was just falling apart, it was in various states of disrepair. And so fans were like, hey, could we, because we're professional people that can fix this, can we reinstate it to its former glory? And they granted that to them. They said, Yes, go ahead, do it. And so this guy right here, Joe Walzard, led a group of people in restoring the vehicle, and the pieces that they could not rehab from that screen-used vehicle, they cut up and sold to fucking nerds like me. So now I've got pieces of the screen used time machine um here in my home. Very good in uh this box. Yes, it is my my favorite uh possession of my collection. A movie you haven't fucking seen.

SPEAKER_03

When I get the DeLorean, it's gonna be so fucking great. Loves the movie and has these pieces, and I'm sitting here like, I'm wait, what movie? Fucking, I don't know. I just have this in my fucking driveway. It just sits there. Fucking drive it.

SPEAKER_01

You get the you get it to look like a decked out like DeLorean time machine, and people are like, oh, that's so cool. It's from what movie?

SPEAKER_03

What movie? I just thought it would be cool. I bought it like this.

SPEAKER_01

I like the noises it makes and the lights. It goes to crash it into a wall. The doors go Ghostbusters, right?

SPEAKER_03

Ghostbusters. Oh, you mean Ghostbusters? Yeah, I love that movie. It's great. Not right there.

SPEAKER_01

That's the Proton Pack. That's what makes time travel possible.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, Don Cheadle, he's great at this. People are like, oh, so you're just insane. I just met an actual insane person.

SPEAKER_01

Famous bean guy, Liam Leighton, gets shot over the people.

SPEAKER_03

Kind of worth it. Kind of worth it. I died for the bit. Like, there's you can't be any more hardcore than dying for the bit. You know what I'm saying? Yes, Oakley doesn't have a dad anymore. Well, at least she would inherit a really cool DeLorean. She'd get a really and if she doesn't keep up the bit when she gets older, I've fucking I will come back from the grave and haunt her.

SPEAKER_01

You come back from the future.

SPEAKER_00

Stipulated in your will. You get the DeLorean, but you have to keep up the bit.

SPEAKER_03

This was Ghostbusters. I'm really curious. This was Ghostbusters. Come back as a ghost. You know, I thought that was this whole thing that we were talking about. I come back as dog Cheatles Ghost.

SPEAKER_01

And you show up and you're just like, hey everybody, I've come back to haunt my favorite Ghostbusters car as my favorite thing from that movie, a ghost. Ooh. Oh shit. People people have sent me messages thanking me for changing the.

SPEAKER_00

Are you talking about Delurians?

SPEAKER_01

Talking about Delurians, or just in fact, they have I've only received uh derision and um and and volatile hatred for that. But it I I'm I'm out here like clearly I've I've made a good impact on people. I I I can only hope that if this is the first podcast they're hearing from me, that the the the message that we share on social media is it's not underridden by uh by the goofiness uh that that we share here.

SPEAKER_03

I'm not gonna part of me does. Part of part of me always does, right? Not like completely destroyed, but it's you know, a little, like a little bit.

SPEAKER_00

Like a little bit.

SPEAKER_01

But it's it's a good idea.

SPEAKER_00

But speaking of social media, I actually opened social media back up and I was browsing things, and uh what the fuck is going on since I've left? All the all the you know, quote unquote good guys that are supposed to be, you know,

Why Fitness Creators Fight Each Other

SPEAKER_00

shutting down these grifters are at each other's throats now.

SPEAKER_02

Are they? Yeah, who are they? Well, what is this? Oh, I don't know. I don't know if I know anything about that.

SPEAKER_00

Start dropping names. There's too many names to drop. Um but like maybe I'm just gonna do that. Yeah, I'm I'm seeing just a ton of fighting among people who should be helping people. I don't ever see griffin, I'm like, what the fuck is going on here?

SPEAKER_01

It's always either a grifter going after somebody that is just trying to help people, or like I the other week I was getting stitched by a bunch of uh like right-wing tabloid creators who were angry that I was trying to like support somebody who was on their weight loss journey. Have we had Ethan Bernard on here? No. I I should I should shoot him a message and get him on here because he's uh he's he's doing great, and there's just there's a lot of people that are rooting on him to fail. And uh just because he's he's bigger, and it's uh I I called that out. I didn't name any names, but if you leave an insult on the ground, the owner will come pick it up, you know. So there were people that were very upset about me saying, like, hey, there are people really hating on this guy despite the fact that he's doing the work. And uh anyway, let's go and look at his way. And and he was 20 pounds down, yeah, he was doing great, but they're these people they just feed off of bullying and anger and hatred. And I just I don't understand what that's doing other than stroking their own egos. Yeah, I mean, so like that's the call out that I see. I don't know, I I don't see people with with a brain cells to knock around arguing with each other.

SPEAKER_00

Apparently my algorithm reset while I was gone.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. I don't know. Are you getting those fruit cutting videos in Japanese?

SPEAKER_00

I'm getting none of that.

SPEAKER_01

The stuff that you get, like when you before you log into TikTok, like uh the family grifter channels where they're doing like lip syncing and it's got a hundred thousand billion views, and you're looking at it and you're thinking, like, what who's watching that? Who's searching for this?

SPEAKER_03

Apparently, everyone, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Like apparently, because you go to the comments and everyone's you know sending like fire emojis and stuff, and I'm like, these people, these people pay taxes, they live in our neighborhoods, they're out there. But it quick question Have you guys ever met a Mr. Beast fan?

SPEAKER_03

I know you we've kind of talked about this earlier. Like you you don't know that many Mr. fans people who are actually fans of Mr. Beast.

SPEAKER_00

I've never heard somebody talk about Mr. Beast.

SPEAKER_01

No, I did he's he's got I I think the last time I checked,

MrBeast Fame And Algorithm Reality

SPEAKER_01

40 billion subscribers. We should know one guy who's just all in Mr. Beast, right? Like, same with Imagine Dragons. I don't know any Imagined Dragons fans, but they're filling stadiums.

SPEAKER_00

We we had the the feestibles here in our tiny town at one point, and I don't think I ever saw a person pick one up. No, it's just shitty chocolate.

SPEAKER_01

It's Hershey chocolate in a blue wrapper.

SPEAKER_03

I think there's just a lot of people like he does just such a good job with the algorithm, like working with the algorithm and like what the very basics of what people want. And he gets, you know, I don't know how many people are like diehard Mr. Beast fans, but there's a lot of people who are like, oh, what's this weird thing that's happening? It's a hundred of this versus a hundred of that. You know, I'll click that video.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_03

And I think it's just a lot of people he knows he gets he knows how to get people to watch.

SPEAKER_00

Like, are there people going money now to do to pay people to do a bunch of stupid stuff?

SPEAKER_01

Are there people hanging around the water cooler going like, hey, do you see Mr. Beast send a hundred gorillas against 10,000 kids?

SPEAKER_03

Like I bet you there are people talking about the video, but I don't know how many people are just like, Yes, Mr. Beast, like he's my favorite. I don't know. Maybe there is a lot, and we don't know. I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

It's I maybe we're also just out of touch because I will see mostly younger kids and stuff are really I'll click on a profile of so like there's some big controversy with you know Buster Bagsley, and I'm like, who's who's Buster Bagsley? And then I'll click on the profile and they've got 900 million followers. And I'm like, how did I how have I never heard of this person? And they're they're four years old, right? Four years old, they own a yacht and they can drive a car, and that's like the big thing about them. And I'm like, where it how is this person hiding in plain sight? Am I out of touch? Am I finally the old generation?

SPEAKER_03

I think the answer is yes.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, walking around, I hear people talk about Joe Rogan, but I never hear them talk about anything else.

SPEAKER_01

No, just looked up Buster Bagsley. That's not a person. Just in case I was pissing off. Not yet, but now that somebody's listening, they'll be like, that's a good name. And they're gonna name their baby Buster B. Bagsley. No, they're just gonna use it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

They're gonna AI it okay. Okay. Well, as of right now it doesn't exist, so we're just marking that down.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, we've gotten to the point where AI is good enough that everybody's fallen for it, right? We've got a freaking actress that's making a movie, an AI actress.

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah? I didn't know that.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Tilly Tilly.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that's it.

SPEAKER_01

I thought I heard she got a virus

AI Actresses And AI Co Hosts

SPEAKER_01

and died. Like, hold on. Yeah, Tilly Norwood is who it is. Who's who's gonna go and see that?

SPEAKER_00

I think a lot of people are gonna go see that because they're gonna be interested in like, is this actually good? Can AI actually do this? Or they're gonna try and pick it apart, try and find all the flaws in it, or stuff like that. It's not that people are actually going because they're a fan. They're they're going either to see the technology or they're going to try to debunk the technology.

SPEAKER_01

Can we just like pirate Tilly Norwood and bring her on the podcast and just have her be? What are they gonna do? She's not a person, they can't own that. They're gonna replace you guys are gonna replace me with AI here in a couple of months. And I think the podcast is gonna do really well.

SPEAKER_03

The fucking AI Mike talks more about DeLoreans. This is fucking weird.

SPEAKER_01

Because it would be trained on everything I've done here, so it would just talk about DeLoreans and uh World War II tanks with truck nuts on them.

SPEAKER_00

AI Mike wouldn't forget to mention DeLoreans on his solo episode.

SPEAKER_01

Listen, that's still one of my greatest moments of shame. I we received death threats. We received hundreds of death threats. Don't do this again. Don't um, yeah, they they were very upset. Uh if if uh Tilly Norwood, if uh your programmers are listening here, uh come on the show. Come uh come talk with us, generate an interview with us. I love that in the see also on the Wikipedia page for Tilly Norwood, the first thing on top is AI slop.

SPEAKER_03

That's as it should be.

SPEAKER_01

And it links to the Wikipedia article for AI Slop. You know what is not AI Slop though? The DeLorean.

SPEAKER_03

The DeLorean. It's still just the greatest thing that humans have ever created.

SPEAKER_01

Step aside, Jonas Salk. What's that bullshit? Penicillin boo-hoo. I bet you never drove a stainless steel fucking tank. Oh, Murray Curie's like inventing shit and chemistry or whatever. Oh, nerd. Yeah, you know who didn't die of radiation poisoning? John Z. DeLorean. Idiot. Oh, I'm gonna play with those nuclear rods that Homer Simpson eats. What do you think was gonna happen? I heard that she doesn't listen to the podcast.

SPEAKER_03

Attacking one of the greatest minds in science. They've given us so much. We're like, yeah, nerd. We like this car because it's metal and it's in this movie. And I don't even like it because it's in the movie. That's the reason I like I haven't seen the movie. That's why I like it.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know. They're not even gonna let us look at the gates of heaven.

SPEAKER_03

Fucking Marie Curie's up there. Like, I heard what you said. I heard you talk where she had some notes. Let's hear it. Let's hear it. How did that DeLorean go?

SPEAKER_00

The devil's gonna show up and just jangle some some DeLorean keys, and we're just gonna be like, oh hell yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Do I get a key fob with it? Does does the DeLorean have a little key fob? No. No, oh I just got a regular key. I know that. Okay. Standard. It does have the button that closes and opens the trunk on its own, right?

SPEAKER_01

No, that's they only started recently putting those on. You still have to slam that one like you're trying to make it never open again.

SPEAKER_03

So you're saying it doesn't have the foot wavy thing where if I wave my foot under the trunk, it pops open. Let's have that.

SPEAKER_01

It doesn't have proximity detection or a backup camera.

SPEAKER_03

Oh. Oh, so wait, does it have Apple or does it have Google for the like the screen in the car?

SPEAKER_00

Why didn't they install this stuff when they went to the future?

SPEAKER_01

It has one of those computers that took up an entire room in 1975 that they had to cool by like throwing puppies into a into a steam vent.

SPEAKER_03

And the only thing I can calculate is how fast you'll be going when you die in the crash in the DeLorean.

SPEAKER_01

If you want to make it to Walmart, you have to put in a thousand punch cards.

SPEAKER_03

Oh gosh. What what are the heated seats like? Is it they come on really fast or does that take a while?

SPEAKER_01

I don't even think it is. And do they include a massage? Depends on where it drives you to.

SPEAKER_02

Oh gosh.

SPEAKER_01

It it does operate as a Waymo if you have a Waymo towing you.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, okay. So I find with my current car, my remote start doesn't work super well very often. So, like, how is how is that work on the DeLorean?

SPEAKER_00

Like, I do I can hit lock a couple times to wake it up and I'm pretty sure the remote start is you giving Oku the key and saying, go start the car.

DeLorean Design Flaws Cup Holder Rage

SPEAKER_01

So um the DeLorean, bad news, the DeLorean does not have built-in cup holders from the factory.

SPEAKER_03

What? It doesn't even have a fucking cup holder.

SPEAKER_01

But you can buy aftermarket 3D printed consoles or aftermarket console inserts to hold drinks.

SPEAKER_03

I need to see some pic. I was looking at pictures.

SPEAKER_00

So where did they put their diet soda when they were busting ghosts then?

SPEAKER_03

Holy shit, you're right. It doesn't have a fucking cup holder.

SPEAKER_01

You know what else it doesn't have? Look at the window real quick and tell me what you see.

SPEAKER_03

The window. I need to see a good picture of the window.

SPEAKER_01

You'll see a little line about halfway through. How do you think that window opens, Liam?

SPEAKER_03

Um AI?

SPEAKER_01

Do I ask it? That little section inside of the black line is the window that opens. The rest of it is totally static and doesn't move.

SPEAKER_03

Wait, so you just get like a prison slip?

SPEAKER_01

Like you just they can slide you a tray of food.

SPEAKER_03

I just get a prison food slip.

SPEAKER_01

Also, the thing stands like I think maybe two feet off the ground at the time. I'm starting to think this isn't a great car.

SPEAKER_03

Wait a minute. Hold on. Wait, hold on. What am I paying $70,000 for?

SPEAKER_01

You can't go through a drive-thru and get a drink. You would have to open up the door and step out.

SPEAKER_03

I didn't know it had this fucking prison food slip. Who designed this?

SPEAKER_01

John Z. DeLorean.

SPEAKER_03

Oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_00

The person who just said is the greatest mind of our lifetime.

SPEAKER_03

He built a prison food slip into the car.

SPEAKER_01

No, Einstein made a math equation. Okay, fucking nerd.

SPEAKER_03

I didn't think so.

SPEAKER_01

John C. DeLorean could have come up with a theory of relativity, but Einstein couldn't have built the DeLorean. That's all I'm saying.

SPEAKER_03

I can't even order a large fucking Taco Bell like meal.

SPEAKER_01

You can't order a small one. The cup's too tall.

SPEAKER_03

I have no cup holder to put it in. And I've got no way to get it in the car without opening the door, getting out and saying, thank you very much. Please help me getting back into my fucking 1981 DeLorean detail.

SPEAKER_00

They put so much effort into making the door look cool. They were like, you don't need windows.

SPEAKER_03

You're just gonna open the door and be like, Yeah, but like I can't even open the door to get the food because it's too close to the fucking window.

SPEAKER_01

You're gonna knock the cup out of the person's hand trying to give it to you. She's gonna go on top of the roof.

SPEAKER_03

I never even knew this. All drive-throughs are gonna be a bitch in this thing.

SPEAKER_01

What's worse here is we're tall. Liam, this is not a big vehicle. You're gonna look like like a clown stepping out of a box.

SPEAKER_03

For sure. Okay, listen, that honestly though, like I drove around like a 2003 Toy Toyota Echo for many years and shit. Like I've had really small cars, and like I can work with that. I'm more I'm kind of stuck on the prison slip and the lack of cup holders, if I'm being real with you.

SPEAKER_01

I I drove a 94 Saturn for a while, which is uh of similar shape and just about the same size, and it was uh it wasn't a comfy ride. Oh man. It wasn't a comfy. I'm looking at the Toyota Echo. You were close to that steering wheel.

SPEAKER_03

Oh yeah, no, I I had to put the seat all the way back, and my my knees were out, like on the sides for sure.

SPEAKER_01

That's what would have happened to me.

SPEAKER_03

I still want it. I after all prison slip or not, I don't care. Like, I I still want it.

SPEAKER_01

Let me just say here, real quick, by the way, internet. Liam, do people generally assume you're gonna be tall?

SPEAKER_03

No, no, they think I'm a short king for the most part. Really? Okay, because they also think I'm a short king. Yeah, I get a lot of it. I get a lot of that. People, it's when I when I like video I had a video where I walked out of a grocery store and they're like, Your head almost hit the fucking roof on that, on the door. Well, how tall? Hold on a second. And I was like, Yeah, no, I'm actually tall. And they're like, Well, this is weird. I thought you were short.

SPEAKER_01

Anybody who's ever met me has gone, oh, you're way taller than I thought you'd be.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, yeah, I get that a lot.

SPEAKER_01

Rob, you are also on the taller side as well. Uh we we are we are large humans. This DeLorean is going to be uh quiet a squeeze. Yeah. But yeah, this is a shot on the show.

SPEAKER_00

I don't get people thinking that I'm short.

SPEAKER_01

You have people thinking you're gonna be very tall.

SPEAKER_00

No, instead, I got people that think I'm younger than I am.

SPEAKER_01

Oh no. Lobster too buttery, steak too juicy. Rob is actually 64 years old.

SPEAKER_00

Mike, don't tell a person's age.

SPEAKER_03

He was born in 1981. Same year as the DeLorean.

SPEAKER_00

That maths. Yep, that maths.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. Yep, 1981, 64 years ago. Uh yeah, exactly.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

We're not ageologists here. If anybody would like to know a specific fact about the DeLorean or you've got any DeLorean-related questions, please send them to the in moderation P.O. box. Or um that uh yes.

SPEAKER_00

This is news to me.

SPEAKER_01

Yes,

PO Box Questions And Final Plea

SPEAKER_01

we we have a P.O. box. That's where everybody writes the letters in.

SPEAKER_00

Is is it is it the prison slip on Liam's DeLorean?

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

Do they just stick the letter in there?

SPEAKER_03

They stick the letter in there, we open the window on halfway. And it feels like blasphemy um when I'm looking at it.

SPEAKER_01

I don't I don't like the the different colored DeLoreans. I I like the the regular one. I almost said um I don't like colored DeLoreans, and it just felt not good.

SPEAKER_03

Like I was being racist to DeLorean.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so I I don't like DeLoreans that are not uh the stainless steel brushed. I I think it's just it's it was supposed to be one color.

SPEAKER_03

And um Yeah, it this one's red, and I just I'm not feeling it.

SPEAKER_01

Are you on eBay?

SPEAKER_03

No, I am on uh uh DeLoreans.com. No uh Hemings? Hemings.com.

SPEAKER_00

I know Hemings. I should have. I like how this podcast has just turned into you guys shopping for DeLoreans.

SPEAKER_03

The mileage on this one is 99,999. They are like one mile before 100,000.

SPEAKER_00

Well, they get away with saying that it's under 100.

SPEAKER_03

Under 100,000, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So here's the thing the physical odometer on a stock DeLorean DMC12 displays a maximum of 99,999 miles. Once it reaches this limit, the mechanical gauge simply rolls over to 0000000 and starts counting from the beginning.

SPEAKER_03

All right. Well, that would explain that.

SPEAKER_00

So they did not expect it to hit 100,000.

SPEAKER_01

No.

SPEAKER_03

I'm how did they think this car was gonna be successful?

SPEAKER_01

It just being sold on how cool it looked. That was it. It was supposed to be like a trendy looking sports car. All right. That was it. I guess it's it is really like it's it's it's quite fascinating listening to the the history of the DeLorean. Because it at every turn, this they tried to stop this thing. There was just always something in the way that tried to make this not happen. And um, yeah, it's it's only got five slots for the uh for the thing.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I'm looking like the I'm looking at the 1983. Yeah, it looks pretty much the same. It doesn't look that much different at all.

SPEAKER_01

They really didn't change very much. The fact that it had for three years over the years it got cheaper. They kind of started cutting more corners as they went on. So if you get a later one and it's of lesser quality. Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_00

So it crash worse.

SPEAKER_01

Uh I I the outside I think remained the same, but it's the the insides uh that would have changed. Oh, I see. Now it has Apple CarPlay. Oh, okay. That's definitely it's either aftermarket or John DeLorean was the smartest human being. And in this one, we will put an Apple CarPlay device. Apple. I don't want to be able to do that. With that guy with the Apple I and the Apple II in the garage.

SPEAKER_03

What the Don't worry, but again, I what do I have to tell you?

SPEAKER_01

Anyway, be careful on New York in the middle of September.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, oh no, I would die in this for sure. Still want it. Still want it after all these all these things. I don't care. Still want it.

SPEAKER_01

DMcttalk.org. Oh, this is this is an old okay.

SPEAKER_00

At this point, the guys look like they're like looking at porn or something.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, yeah. That's what what's the difference, really, between that and the DeLorean?

SPEAKER_01

I mean, porn does nothing for me. These DeLoreans have me bricked up. That's basically porn, is what I'm saying. Turn off. Can you can you turn put this in the beginning? Have a cold open mom. Don't listen to this podcast. Hi, everyone. Mike Pridgin, also known as Mike Needs a Plan here. This is my plea. Don't don't listen to this episode. Don't listen. Just don't. Out of 10.

SPEAKER_00

And be kind to yourself.

SPEAKER_01

Be kind to yourself.
